Recipe Review – Lazy Cabbage

I love this recipe. It doesn’t come out looking like much, but it sure tastes good! Use low sodium canned foods to bring down the salt content.

Lazy Cabbage – Original recipe here (please note, this site has not been updated in quite some time)

1 lb. breakfast or Italian Sausage (I use chicken)

Chopped onion and green pepper (however much you prefer)

4 Cups shredded cabbage (I use bagged coleslaw)

2 28 oz canned tomatoes (drain one)

1/2 Cup Minute Rice (dry)

1 envelope dry onion soup mix

Brown meat, onion and pepper, drain any fat. Combine all ingredients together and spread in a sprayed 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350º covered for 1 1/2 hours. Makes 6 servings.

My notes:  I stir it every 30 minutes. This is great topped with low fat cheese. Picture Below.
